U.S. M1943 Field Jacket

The M1943 field uniform was first evaluated by units of the 3rd Infantry Division on the Anzio beach head in the summer of 1943. It was first issued in quantity in late 1944 to airborne units. Finally being issued to the rest of the U.S. army in January 1945. This example is in very good condition retaining its contract label which gives the pattern date August 1944, production date 30th May 1945, the size 38 long and the manufacturers name "B.Schwartz & Co". Early made examples tend to have a lighter green coloured liner and stitched on instruction label. Where later examples such as this example has a dark green coloured lining with printed instructions.
