East German Camouflage Jacket
This is the rarer camouflage jacket worn by the MDI and NVA in Flachenmuster ( Area pattern ), which was issued between 1956 to 1967. Flachentarn is also known as Kartoffelmuster ( Patato pattern ) and Blumentarn ( Flower pattern ). Flachentarn camouflage was influence by the WW2 Soviet era Amoeba camouflage pattern. This example is in excellent condition stamped 'NVA" ( Nationale Volksarmee ), dated April 1963. It is also unit marked ( NVA 4/3/18). It also retains its sniper veil and shoulder boards.
