West German Bundeswehr Splinter Camouflage Jacket.
When the Bundeswehr was first formed in 1955 a camouflage pattern was developed, derived from the wartime splinter camouflage worn by the Wehrmacht. However this was short lived and the Bundeswehr splinter uniform was only produced from 1956 to 1957. After which it was discontinued, as it was deemed. It gave Bundeswehr soldiers to much of a resemblance to soldiers of Hitlers Wehrmacht. The uniform continued to be issued to training units until stocks where exhausted, resulting in Bundeswehr splinter uniforms becoming extremely rare. Even more so than Wehrmacht splinter uniforms. This example has had a minor repair, which i suspect was done during the 1960's as the uniform would have been re-issued multiple times. Otherwise it is in very good condition with a working zipper. The jacket retains a name tag and the factory label which gives the size and date of manufacture 1957.
