British MKIII Sterling SMG ( Pre-EU/UK Deactivation )

For sale to customers outside the European Union Only. The Sterling SMG actually was first introduced in as the Patchett, which was produced by Sterling Engineering company. However the Patchett was only produced in limited number for field trails between 1944 to 1945. Due to the amount of Sten Guns manufactured the army saw no need to continue with the trails and the designed was shelved. However in late 1940's the need for a more robust and reliable SMG took president and Patchett design was re-evaluated with some minor changes and was officially adopted in 1953 as the standard SMG within the British military. The official designation the SMG is L2A1. However it is more commonly known as the Sterling taken from the name of the factory where the SMG was produced. This example is a MKIII and was deactivated after 1995, and does not cock or dry fire. However the cocking handle does move. The folding stock is a little loose when extended, with the upper part tending to flipping down. For Non EU Sales Only. However can be re-deactivated to the current EU Specification.
