British MK1 Lewis Gun ( Pre-EU/UK Deactivation

For sale to customers outside the European Union only. This is in fact a U.S. made MK1 Lewis gun which was part of a contract for the British government. It was produced by Savage Arms Company. It is stamped with British proof markings in the from of a crown above F9 with the letter "A" below F9. The F9 means the weapon was proofed for Smokeless powder and the letter "A" means it was proofed in America. It is also dated 1916, which is not common practice for Lewis guns to be physically dated. It is also stamped with a number of British War Department acceptance broad arrow markings. This example has a British made barrel sleeve and a later pattern butt. The magazine is British and has Birmingham Small Arms proof markings. The weapon has had post-WW1 use as indicated by the four holes by the rear sight for a special anti-aircraft rear sight. For Non EU Sales Only. However can be re-deactivated to the current EU specification. Please email before making purchase.
