Irish MKII Home Defence Wardens Helmet
This is a British made MKII helmet, which supplied to the Republic of Ireland, which received over 60,000 helmets by the United kingdom during WW2 with a large number being supply to the Irish Civil Defence, which mirror its British counterpart. The Irish Civil Defence helmets where overpainted to reflect the branch of service. Red for fire, blue for rescue, white for casualty service, green for air raid wardens and police. This example is an air raid wardens helmet with the original British army khaki finish still visible on the inside of the shell. The liner is maker marked TTC for Teddy Toy Company, which produced liners from 1939 to 1942. It's size stamped 7.1/4 and dated 1940.
