German Mauser M1896 Rifle ( Pre-EU/UK Deactivation )

For sale to customers outside the European Union Only. The Mauser M1896 rifle was sold to Chile and the Orange Free State - Oranje Vru Staat ( OVS ). The Chilean rifles would have the crest of Chile where the OVS rifles would only have the makers name. This example is a OVS rifle and is maker marked Deutsches Waffen und Munitionsfabrik, Berlin. The Orange Free State was a short lived independent republic 1854 to 1902 in South Africa and founded by Dutch settlers, who where seeking freedom from British rule. During the late 1890's the OVS arrange a contract with DWM to be supplied with a number of Mauser M1895 and 1896 rifles. However delivers where abruptly terminated with the advent of he Boer War with approximately 18,000 rifles being delivered. This example is in reasonable condition , however it is missing its cleaning rod and one screw on the trigger guard. For Non EU Sales Only.
