British General Service Beret
A good example of a G.S. beret, which was first introduced in September 1943 as a wartime measure to replace the G.S. side cap. When the G.S. beret was first introduced it was dubbed by British soldiers as "Cap Ridiculous" as it was an unpopular item amongst the troops. However it was for universal wear and the troops got used to it. This example was produced by J.Collett.LTD and size stamped 7.3/8. and date 1945.
