U.S. M1 Front Seamed Swivel Bale Helmet

This is a front seamed swivel bale helmet with the manganses rim which was manufactured between was produced between October 1944 to November 1945. This example is has lost most of its original finish exposing the bare metal which has gone a rusty brown colour, with traces of the its original paint visible. However it does retain its original webbing chinstrap which has started to fray at the swivel bales. It comes with a third pattern high pressure liner which was introduced in late 1942 and appears to have been post-war painted. The liner is maker marked with the letter "W" over a crown within a oval. Which identifies the maker as Westinghouse Electric Company.
