German WW2 S84/98 Bayonet.

This is a S84/98 bayonet for use with the K98 rifle. This example is maker marked 'S/239", which identifies the manufacturer as Richard Herder, Stahlwaren-u.Werkezeugfabrik. The makers code is followed with a secret year letter code "K" for 1934. This was used when German was secretly re-arming in breach of the Treaty of Versailles. The scabbard has been re-painted and retains its locking screw. This is an age restricted item. Proof of age must be provided.
