This is a M1907 Roth-Steyr pistol, which holds the distinction of being the first self-loading pistol to be adopted for general service for military use by a major power. It was officially taken into service in 1908 by the Austo-Hungarian cavalry. Later it was issued to the Flying Corps and unofficially become known as the Flieger-Pistole ( Flyers Pistol ).
