U.S. M1943 Field Cap

This M1943 field cap was part of the M1943 field uniform and was authorised in August 1943. The cap has a internal flannel-lined flap designed to cover the ears. The cap retains its contract label, however all the details have been washed out. The instruction label is still attached. The cap has the original owners personal service number and the flannel lining has suffered with a small tare. Later version of the M1943 field cap introduced in February 1945 have had the two side grommets deleted.
