U.S. M1 Fixed Bale Helmet & Camouflage Netting

A M1 fixed bale helmet, which would have been produced between July 1941 to October 1943. This example has suffered with a fracture to the shell which was commonly on early M1 helmets and appears to have been repaired and appears to have been period repainted. It also retains its original chinstrap with early blackened brass buckle with raised features. The helmet also comes with a period helmet netting for camouflage purposes. The liunwer is the 3rd pattern plastic high pressure liner which was introduced in late 1942. It is maker marked with the letter "W" on an oval within a circle. which identifies the manufacturer as the Westinghouse Electric Company. The inside of the helmet shell has a visible heat number.
