U.S. M1 Fixed Bale Helmet

A nice example of a M1 fixed bale helmet which would have been produced between July 1941 to October 1943. The helmet retains its original finish and chinstrap with an early blackened brass buckle with raised features. The heat number heat number on the inside of the shell is visible. The helmet comes with a third pattern plastic high pressure liner which was introduced in late 1942. The liner is maker marked withh the letter "W" on a oval within a circle, which identifies the manufacturer as the Westinghouse Electric Company.
