U.S. Marine Corps M1955 Fragmentation Vest

This is a rare Marine Corps M1955 fragmentation vest which was developed during the Korean war to replace the M1952 fragmentation vest. There where three patterns of the M1955 Marine Corps fragmentation vest. The first pattern had no external ammunition pouches, the 2nd and 3rd patterns did. The 3rd pattern also had a rifle guard on both shoulders, where the 2nd pattern only had a rifle guard on the right shoulder. The 2nd pattern was introduced in the late 1960's and the third pattern in the mid 1980's. This example is dated 3rd December 1982 and is size stamped Medium and it is in excellent condition and comes with its protective plates, which tend to be missing in most existing examples.
