U.S. M1911A1 Pistol. ( Pre-EU/UK Deactivation )

For sale to customers outside the European Union Only. This is one of the rarer WW2 era M1911A1's which has the inspector marked "WB" which where only found exclusively on Colt made M1911A1's. The WB stamp stands for Ordnance Inspector Colonel Waldermar S.Broberg, who held the title army inspector of Ordnance between July 1941 to June 1942. The serial number range for WB stamped pistol should be 730,000 to 795,000. Unfortunately this example appears to have been sold out of military service and the original serial number and U.S. army markings have been removed and the pistol renumbered. However the proof P marking showing the pistol past high pressure proof tests is still visible on the frame and top of the slide. The patent dates also confirms the pistol is 1941 to 1942 production as the patent dates where discontinued after 1942 to speed up production. This example also comes with a Colt made magazine.
