U.S. M1 Carbine ( Pre-EU/UK Deactivation )
For sale to customers outside the European Union Only. The M1 carbine was introduced in 1941 and was designed to be used by machine gunners, mortar teams, drivers, clerks and other support troops. However the M1 carbine become popular amongst officers and senior NCO's. This is an early example which has a two aperture rear sight and no bayonet lug. However in late 1944 a new ramp adjustable rear sight was introduced and a bayonet lug. After 1945 the majority of M1 carbines where retro fitted with the new rear sight and bayonet lug. M1 carbine's with early features are extremely rare as the majority of existing M1 carbines have the post-1945 modifications. This example is maker marked Inland Division, which was part General Motors. The M1 carbine continued to be used to the end of the Vietnam War. However these would have the bayonet lug, rear ramp sight and the majority would have a post-war top hand guard is can be identified by two grommets on each side. WW2 top hand guards have one grommet on each side. This is a post-1995 deactivation and does not cock or dry fire. However the cocking handle moves under spring pressure and the trigger also moves.
