British Officers 1940 Pattern BD Blouse

This is 40 pattern Battle Dress blouse which has had the collar tailored for officer use. This example is in excellent condition and has the rank of Second Lieutenant. The brass pipe is red felt backed which is branch of service colour for infantry. The left breast has four award ribbons left to right 1) 1939/45 Star, 2) France & Germany Star, 3) War Defence Medal, 4) 1939/45 War Medal. The BD is a small size 7 and retains its contract label which gives the manufacturers name, W.A.Hunter Ltd and the date of manufacturer 6th April 1946. It is also stamped with the War Department year letter acceptance code "L" for 1946. It also has the officers number and name and unit company written on the lining.
