Finish M38 Helmet

This is in fact a Hungarian M38 which was exported to Finland during WW2. The Hungarian M38, was modelled on the German M35, approximately 75,000 were exported under contract to Finland. The main difference between the domestic Hungarian and Finish supplied helmets was the colour and lacked the Hungarian crown inspection marks. This particular helmet has been post-war painted as the Fins continued to use the M38 in limited numbers to the 1970's. The liner is also post-war. However the wartime paint finish can still be seen under the liner.
